Education & Training

Robert is an accomplished organist and pianist. He trained at the Royal Northern College of Music, studying:

  • Organ: Dame Gillian Weir, Ronald Frost
  • Piano: Gordon Green
  • Harpsichord: Robert Elliott

He also took part in masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians, including Lionel Rogg, Susan Landale, Cecil Aronowitz, and Dame Gillian Weir, gaining valuable insights into performance and interpretation.

Performance Career

Robert has performed organ recitals across the UK, including Beverley Minster, Blackburn Cathedral, and internationally at St George's Cathedral, Jerusalem. His repertoire spans traditional and contemporary organ music. 

He has regularly accompanied singers and instrumentalists in recitals, and has played keyboard for many of the musical directing projects he has been involved in. 

Music Direction & Leadership

Robert has held the position of Director of Music at several prominent London churches, playing the organ, accompanying singers, overseeing music programs, conducting orchestras, directing choirs, and mentoring musicians at all levels. His notable appointments include:

  • St George's Cathedral, Jerusalem -leading the cathedral's music and performing internationally.
  • St Cyprian's, Clarence Gate, London - developing choir programs and concert series.
  • St John's Wood, London - directing professional and amateur choral and orchestral ensembles for both liturgical and public performances.
  • St John's Hyde Park, London - creating dynamic music programs with professional choir and orchestra.
